Mental Illness – RU OK DAY 2015

RU OK DAY 2015, Mental Health, Mental Illness, Small Business Administrative & Office Support Services

RU OK DAY 2015

Along with being anti-domestic violence again women, children, the aged, and men, I really care about mental illness. It is one of my passions.
Mental illness is an insidious disease that affects more people than you can possibly realise.
Even in this era of ‘acceptance’, mental illness is still viewed by many as a ‘taboo’ subject and filled with stigma. This is despite the efforts of such organisations as ‘beyondblue’, ‘Black Dog’, ‘RUOK’, ‘Davo’s Man Shed’ and others.
With ever-increasing pressure on people to find that ‘work/life balance’, mental illness is bound to become more prevalent.

I found this on Facebook. September 10, 2015

Today is R U OK? Day. Members of Darwin’s 1st Brigade – Australian Army, together with the Marine Rotational Force Darwin got out on the parade ground at Robertson Barracks to show their support.
Remember, some things in life are difficult to deal with – so be ready to help a mate, a colleague or even a stranger by asking the question, “are you ok?”
