I created DOES Biz to help business owners such as yourself to overcome those challenges. Most of you have left your corporate jobs to work for yourselves and often find that the admin tasks just take up too much of your time when you should be servicing your clients instead of sitting behind your desk doing tasks you find tedious and boring.

I just wanted to take a minute to roll out my virtual welcome mat and give you a quick rundown on what I am about.
This is me in what is now my office space after using a 2m x 2m space in the dining room. (*happy dance*). So much room!!!

Who Am I and Where Have I Been?

I am a mature aged, young at heart woman (a little on the unconventional side), married to the love of my life and have 3 adult children. Three fur babies and two feathered babies are a part of my at home Family.
With a ‘no-nonsense’ no ‘fluff’ attitude and a kind and caring heart and personality to match, I am a bit of a paradox but describes me perfectly.
Since migrating from Canada at the age of 12, I have lived in all states within Australia except WA.  My tapestry of travel emulates the broad experience I have gained in my extensive career.
Someone asked me a question about why I wanted to start my business. I couldn’t answer the question at the time in a way that sounded even remotely plausible. It sounded like I did not believe in myself and what I could achieve.
THEN, after not consciously thinking about it during the day, I had an epiphany and realised that I knew the answer all along.
I wanted to start this business because I am passionate about helping others and because, after owning a busy retail food business for 10 years and struggling through some very difficult circumstances, I wanted to help others from making the mistakes I did.
The mistakes of working IN my business doing all those horrible admin tasks; payroll, BAS, writing policies and procedures, making flyers, business cards, etc., and not having a Business Plan, Marketing Plan, or Financial Plan.
Along with working part-time in the business, going to TAFE (three times), working full-time (for nine years) outside the business in paid employment, and trying to raise three children (when I had the time to be with them), and raise a husband, I had no work/life balance. I became burnt out. I hardly saw my children, had very little time for me. had very few breaks away; as in holidays; and my family suffered.
I did not want that for other business owners. So, here I am today giving you the opportunity to get your work/life balance right and your ‘ducks in a row’.
